GuideOne Foundation Announces MyCause Award Winners Honoring Unsung Heroes in Four States

Winners Received a $5,000 Donation to the Charity of their Choice

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – (Feb. 9, 2016) – The GuideOne Foundation is pleased to announce today the winners of the first MyCause Awards program in Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio. This program was launched in 2015 and was designed to recognize and honor unsung heroes who have done something tremendous to the better the lives of others in their community.  In conjunction with GuideOne Insurance’s MyCause Auto endorsement, this program aims to distinguish individuals who go above and beyond to give back and make a difference in the lives of others. 

After being nominated and going through a selection process, finalists were identified in each state. The winners were then determined through an online viral voting campaign. The following individuals were deemed the first MyCause Award winners and received a $5,000 donation from the GuideOne Foundation in their name to the charity of their choice: 

  • Laura Burg – Fulton, Missouri
    • Donation was made to Heartland Church of the Nazarene in Fulton, MO
  • Kimberlie Todd – Findlay, Ohio
    • Donation was made to Mission Possible
  • Clancy Walker – Flowood, Mississippi
    • Donation was made to the Mississippi Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Katie Wolfe – Avon, Indiana
    • Donation was made to Get REAL InC (In Christ)
