MADD and GuideOne Insurance Announce Renewed Relationship

DALLAS, Texas – (Dec. 11, 2014) – Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) is honored to announce GuideOne Insurance as a returning sponsor of the organization, sponsoring MADD’s Victim Services trainings in a two-year agreement. As one of MADD’s earliest supporters, GuideOne joined MADD in 1980 as an initial sponsor helping with seed funding.

Since that time, GuideOne has contributed more than two million dollars to MADD’s mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of these violent crimes and prevent underage drinking. Previous GuideOne contributions have funded MADD’s National Youth Summit, reports on state drunk driving policy ratings, and school outreach programs.

“With MADD’s 35th anniversary approaching in 2015, the timing couldn’t be better to welcome GuideOne back as a Victim Services sponsor,” said Jan Withers, MADD National President. “Having one of our first sponsors join us for our 35th year is something we’re extremely thankful for.”

GuideOne’s two-year sponsorship will support MADD’s Victim Services. In 2013, MADD assisted more than 51,000 victims and survivors of substance-impaired driving in their time of need through a network of more than 1,000 trained staff and volunteer Victim Advocates and the 24/7 Victim Help Line. From emotional support, court accompaniment, assistance with medical and legal systems, referrals, candlelight vigils, to supportive services and more, MADD offers these free services to anyone impacted by drunk or drugged driving crashes.

“We’re excited to reinvigorate our relationship with Mothers Against Drunk Driving,” said Jim Wallace, Chairman, President and CEO, GuideOne Insurance. “We are proud of our history with MADD, the contributions they have made to society over the last 35 years, and now the continued efforts through Victim Services.”

Donations will benefit MADD’s Victim Advocacy Training Institutes (VATIs) where MADD conducts trainings to ensure Victim Advocates are prepared and able to provide MADD’s Victim Services effectively. Funds will sponsor specific participants who may not otherwise be able to attend due to lack of funding, as well as benefit MADD’s 35th Anniversary National Conference in Washington, D.C., in June 2015.

In addition, MADD will provide webinars and one-on-one trainings with GuideOne Insurance agents to help agents work with those impacted by substance-impaired driving crashes with sensitivity and knowledge of how to help.
